Employees, retirees and their families make up our Community Connection service organization with members donating their time and talents to countless community projects. Whether it's a fundraiser for a worthy cause, weatherizing homes for families in need, renewing our rivers and beaches or cleaning up after a natural disaster, our employees are there.

Our customers and communities have seen their share of disasters from hurricanes to tornadoes, an oil spill and more. Each time, we have been there to not only get the power back on, but also put the pieces back together.
Response to hurricanes Camille and Katrina are engrained in our history and many of our processes today. Each required not only operational excellence to restore our power systems, but leadership to help our customers, employees and communities rebuild.
Likewise, on February 10, 2013, a devastating EF4 tornado, with winds as high as 170 mph, hit Hattiesburg and Petal, Mississippi. As Mississippi Power employees rallied to help clean the area of debris and bring stability to the lives of families affected by the tornado, Mississippi Power, along with parent company, Southern Company, donated $100,000 of financial support to the Greater Pine Belt Community Foundation to assist in rebuilding their community.
